The SWBF website is undergoing some maintenance and additional content will be added in due course.
The Saffron Walden Business Forum [SWBF] has membership open to all businesses in Saffron Walden and the surrounding catchment area.
It's purpose is simple: to help promote the vibrant business community of our area and provide a community within which promotional initiatives can be launched.
The Saffron Walden Business Forum formed in August 2005 and is an informal group of local businesses with the following aims:
- To provide a means for the voice of the local business community to contribute to local debate
- To create links with the local authorities for consultation and information
- To enable businesses to network and access information on best practices, new legislation, business ideas and training opportunities
- To allow new ideas and projects to be delivered that promote the town and area
So, what do I get?
Any business trading in and around Saffron Walden can join the Business Forum and gains:
- The ability to talk with a louder voice about issues that are important to you
- Regular meetings with other traders and business people to talk about your business, your products, your problems and your successes
- Access to a group that is about making ideas a reality. So, if you have an idea but don’t have the time, energy or resource to make it happen – be part of a bigger group that can
- Information about training, support and courses that you can take – often for free
- A route to Town, District and County Councils – so you get to hear and have a say about what happens in your town
- The opportunity to represent the needs of Saffron Walden’s economy at District and County groups to ensure that we don’t get overlooked when it comes to wider projects and funding
With regular speakers at our meetings, the group provides excellent networking and information gathering opportunities.
What’s the catch?
There is no catch.
You need to give up a couple of hours a month to attend a meeting and a few pounds in a membership fee. We have to charge a small fee to cover secretarial costs, speaker expenses and to build up a fund to kick start projects.
Memberships Fees
These fees are kept as low as possible to encourage membership.
Fees for the year are:
Up to 5 employees = £10
6 to 25 employees = £25
26 + employees = £40
